Bio:
Dionysos, bearer of the vine, thee I invoke to bless these rites divine: florid and gay, Tis thine mad footsteps with mad Nymphai to beat, dancing through groves with lightly leaping feet. From Zeus’ high counsels nursed by Persephoneia, and born the dread of all the powers divine. Come, blessed God, regard thy suppliant’s voice, propitious come, and in these rites rejoice."

He is viewed as the promoter of civilization, a lawgiver, and lover of peace — as well as the patron deity of agriculture and the theater. Dionysus can wreck havoc on the human mind turning them in to homicidal madmen and women who know not what they do and kill their own family or turn an entire kingdom suicidal.
But those who please the god win eternal favor not only in this life but in the next as he is the god of the afterlife and is responsible for placing many of his favored in the sky (Corona, Hyades, Arcturus and Virgo). He has made many immortal and given them the powers of gods and goddesses as well. He also blessed Three Princesses of Delos with a magical touch: giving them the ability to create wine, oil and corn directly from the earth. Significant Other/Spouse: none
Children: none
Overall Health: fairly well
Education: prep school, three years of collage at Columbia
Career: Tristan put 75% of his inheritance into a night club in the Upper East Side of New York City he opened 3 years ago called ‘Solitaire’
What is he doing in Athens now? Tristan is in Athens as an attempt to fee himself of his family’s pressure to ‘settle down like your brother and sister’ and to ‘quit messing around with frivolous endeavors like that silly little club and finish school and get a real job like Mathew’ at least for a month or two. And he always wanted to travel Greece, and his ‘frivolous endeavors like that silly little club’ has lent him more then enough money to do so very comfortably.
Location in Athans: Plaka - picturesque old historical neighbourhood of Athens, just under the Acropolis, incorporating labyrinthine streets and neoclassical architecture.
What has he dreamt or felt and thought of his true past? Tristan has always felt a great amount of closeness to animals of the feline variety. And even though he has grown out of the allowed ‘frat boy’ age he still gets plastered most weekends and almost always as a glass of wine in his hand. His dreams are haunted by a faceless woman in a with a golden crown named Ariadne. He also has an ability to just be able to read people, know what they need and desire. What it would take to pleasure them completely or relive them from themselves for a time.

Aesthetics
Height: 6’3”
Weight/Build: 165 lbs, thin almost lanky
Hair: sandy blond
Eyes: ice blue
Skin/Other: white
Description: Dionysus is fair skinned and haired, his skin is smooth and he has been mistaken more then once for a girl. He has crisp clear sky blue eyes and sandy hair. He is lean and tall and loves the best thighs in life and keeps a very polished look about himself. He appears to be in his late twenty’s and is always clean shaven. He is something akin to a metro-sexual.

Psychological
Extravert/Introvert: Extravert
Sensing/Intuition: Intuition
Thinking/Feeling: Feeling
Judging/Perceiving: Preceving
Hobbies and Interests:
Strengths: being able to hold good conversations when heavily intoxicated, and sex – he’s very good at sex he did invent the orgasm after all!
Weaknesses: he takes things to lightly never thinking about the consequences of his actions, keeping a low profile
Personality: Dionysus is the youngest among the Olympians and the only half mortal god among his peers. Being the youngest and always treated as so has left his mark on the boy; and while he is capable of being mature, he usually acts the part assigned to him. Also being part mortal has left a soft spot in his heart for the humans and he spends a lit of his time among them. And while some of the other gods might look down their noses at the fact that he is half mortal he feels it keeps him close to his people.

Dionysus lives in a care free world not burdened by the troubles that plague others. His only seemingly problem would be to find the next party or bottle of wine. And while he might appear that way on the surface it is only because he internalizes so much that bothers him. He always appears to be happy because that is what he thinks people expect of him and only when he is alone with his cats, or perhaps Persephone, dose he even edge close to his real feelings about things.

Dionysus is seemingly frivolous in love but that is not the case while it may appear that he just will lie with anything that stays still long enough the truth of the matter is that ever since his wife died he has not been able to truly give his heart to anyone and spends his nights trying to fill the void she left in his heart when she died. Not that he’d ever admit that.

Relations
Friends: Most everyone, but he is especially close to Persephone, Aphrodite, Pan, Demeter, Eros, Hestia and a few others
Enemies:
Romantic Status: single… now
Significant Other: none
Sexual Preference: straight…ish
Present Interests: none
Past Relationships: Wife, Ariadne - mortal, he turned the crown Aphrodite gave her at their wedding into the Constellation Corona (The 'Borealis'(northern) was added later on, to contrast with Corona Australis, the southern crown)

Biographical
Myth: (very abridged version mind you)
Dionysus was born of Semele and Zeus. Semele was a priestess of Zeus, and on one occasion was observed by Zeus as she slaughtered a bull at his altar and afterwards swam in the river Asopus to cleanse herself of the blood. Flying over the scene in the guise of an eagle, Zeus fell in love with Semele and afterwards visited her secretly. Hera discovered his affair with Semele when the latter became pregnant. Appearing as an old crone, Hera befriended Semele, who confided in her that her husband was actually Zeus. Hera pretended not to believe her, and planted seeds of doubt in Semele's mind. Curious, Semele demanded of Zeus that he reveal himself in all his glory as proof of his godhood. Though Zeus begged her not to ask this, she persisted and he agreed. Mortals, however, cannot look upon a god without dying, and she perished, consumed in flame. Zeus rescued the fetal Dionysus, however, by sewing him into his thigh. A few months later, Dionysus was born. This leads to his being called "the twice-born"

Once he was born, fearing for his life, Zeus transformed him into a girl and gave him to Persephone for safe keeping. Thus Dionysus was raised by Persephone who he came to adore like a mother and sister, Persephone is perhaps the only person Dionysus truly trusts to tell anything to. But that to would come to an end and Dionysus would be take out of Persephone’s care and given to Ino and Athamas . but he was found by Hera and while Hear as busy sending Athamas into madness Zeus rescued Dionysus and turned him into a ram and gave him to some nymphs to watch over him.

But he would be found by Hera, and Hera punished him for her husbands promiscuity and threw him also into a state of madness, in which he wandered about through many countries of the earth. He stayed for long periods of time in Egypt, India and Asia. Eventually Rhea, cured him and taught him her religious rites. During his wandering he discovered many things including wine and the orgasm. Dionysus also began to start his cult of women and nymphs (The Bakkhantes and Maindes).

It was a while before Dionysus divinity began to become prominent but when it did Dionysus traveled to the underworld and Dionysus rescued his mother from Hades, and she became a goddess on Mount Olympus, with the new name Thyone, presiding over the frenzy inspired by her son Dionysus.

Dionysus finally made his way into the Parthenon when a bitter Hephaestus locked his dear old mom into a thrown and refused to let her out. Dionysus did what he did best and then got Hephaestus completely drunk and let him back to Olympus where the drunk craftsman let Hera go and as a reward Dionysus was given a spot in the Parthenon, Hestia actually gave him her spot and left to tend to her fires.

Dionysus has had many women lovers but none more important to him then his mortal wife Ariadne. Who he loved relentlessly and wholly. Unfortunately she was mortal and being so she died as mortals often do leaving a huge hole in Dionysus’ heart. In truth Dion has not been complete since her death, though it may not seem so. To memorialize her Dionysus placed the crown Aphrodite gave her at their wedding in the sky for all to see.

Now a days Dionysus spends most of his time gabbing with Persephone, or Aphrodite or playing with his leopards. He as the war presses on Dion find himself disenchanted by the whole matter and not really caring. After all he’s a lover – not a fighter.
